Salvage 101 - Blog Introduction
I don’t know about you, but I always feel like my living room looks so bare after the Christmas decorations come down. Holiday décor is so fun and festive – I know it can be a challenge to figure out what should take its place in your home.lamp and books

The good news is, that even in these tough economic times, there are ways to fill your home with warmth and character throughout the year! There is nothing better than the feeling of re-purposing something in your home and giving it new life. Or, finding something salvaged that costs markedly less than it would in a retail store.

Here’s something you may not know: Start small! Check out some thrift stores, consignment shops, estate sales or even an architectural salvage company in your community. Don’t be afraid to find truly unique pieces in unexpected places.

Take this picture, for example – individually these items are pretty basic – a stack of old books, a vintage candlestick, an antique doorknob – BUT together, they tell a story. I want my home to tell a story!

In 2012, I want to introduce you to the wonderful world of salvage and unique architectural elements.

So don’t forget your pen and paper, because class starts now.

Welcome to Salvage 101!
